Jenny Aurielle B. Babon is a Research Associate in the Melton Lab, studying autoimmunity in type 1 diabetes (T1D). She received her Bachelor in Science degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the University of the Philippines-Diliman. She obtained her PhD in Immunology and Virology from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, doing research on the human T cell immune responses to influenza. Her postdoctoral training in the Diabetes Center of Excellence at the University of Massachusetts Medical School under David Harlan and Sally Kent focused on the human autoantigen T cell responses in T1D. In 2017, she was awarded a postdoctoral research fellowship from the JDRF to study the autoreactive CD8 T cell infiltrates from the islets of human subjects with T1D.
