Alice Rushforth, PhD, has been appointed the next Executive Director of HSCRB. “Alice brings with her more than 20 years of research, teaching, and management experience in academia and industry,” said HSCRB chair Amy Wagers in a message to faculty and staff. “I am so excited to have Alice join us in this critically important role. Already, her insights and expertise have proved invaluable to our efforts, and I look forward her leadership and partnership in the years to come.”

Alice, who earned her PhD in Genetics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, most recently served as Executive Director and then Associate Dean for Programs and Partnerships at Tufts’ Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). Prior to that role, she served as the inaugural Managing Director of a National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center based at MIT, bringing together scientists and engineers to build biological machines and working closely with faculty, staff, and trainees across multiple institutions to develop and implement new research, education, and outreach initiatives.

“I am very inspired and energized to take on this new role working with HSCRB faculty, staff, postdocs, and students to help fulfill the promise of stem cell and regenerative biology to advance scientific knowledge and improve human health,” Alice said.
