Last month faculty, staff, researchers, and students gathered at the New England Aquarium for the annual department retreat.

The day was filled with inspiring talks and updates, including a keynote speech from former faculty member Andrew McMahon and a talk from Associate Professor Jason Buenrostro on single-cell epigenomics. SCRB affiliate faculty April Craft, William Mair, and Richard Sherwood also had an opportunity to present an overview of their labs.

Throughout the day we also heard a series of lightning talks from some of the labs and Jeff Macklis presented the Hatch Trainee Leadership award to Henry Bushnell and Heidi Kletzien.

The day ended with a poster session and cocktail reception where researchers had a chance to mingle and share their science.
