Segel Lab

Principal Investigator

Michael Segel, Ph.D.

The Segel Lab explores the biology of aging through the lens of developmental timing and lifespan evolution. From the behavior of individual cells to the complexity of whole organisms, we investigate the molecular signaling pathways that regulate the tempo of postnatal development in mammals. Our research focuses on how these pathways evolve and shift with age, offering insights into the fundamental mechanisms that drive aging. By decoding these changes, we aim to uncover the molecular roots of age-related diseases—and ultimately, identify new avenues for therapeutic intervention.
