Combating unparalleled humidity, I am originally from Guantanamo, Cuba but I was raised in sunny Miami, Florida. I am a current concentrator in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology and live in Eliot House.
I particularly wanted to study stem cells because of the flexibility the major gives you. With a major in regenerative medicine, you could study practically any system intimately. I've been thus able to use my coursework to further my current research in nephrology - focusing in on kidney regeneration and kidney medicine.
Outside of my research and classes, then, I spend most of my time working on an immigration advocacy org, Act on a Dream. Besides, Act on a Dream, I also work in the Harvard Office of BGLTQ+ student life - a source of BGLTQ+ advocacy on campus.
